American Corner Bitola’s Celebration of Second Anniversary of the Opening
On November 16, 2005 the American Corner in Bitola celebrated two years of successful work together with over 150 guests that included the U.S. Ambassador to R. Macedonia Gillian Milovanovic, representatives of the POA office, Mayor of Bitola, local government officials, NGO’s, media houses and of course AC members.
The celebration’s program included remarks from Ambassador Milovanovic and the her awarding Certificates and prize books to the participants in the contest “America: Through Your Eyes”, which was held in honor of this event for the members to express their view of the US. The contest proved a successful approach to involve members further in the Corner’s activities, the entries ranged from photos, essays and drawings.
On display were all the entries together with a photograph display of the various programs held in the previous two years for the guests to view. Also a PowerPoint presentation of the American Corner Bitola’s work was presented. The event included live American classical music to add to the festiveness.
