U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Visits Macedonia

October 27, 2008

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Stuart E. Jones, will visit Macedonia on October 27-28, 2008.  This is his first visit to Macedonia since he succeeded Rosemary DiCarlo in July 2008.  During his visit DAS Jones, accompanied by Ambassador Reeker, will meet with President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki, as well as with governing and opposition party leadership.  Together they will discuss recent domestic and international political developments, including U.S. – Macedonian relations, regional stability, and Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process.
