Thomas J. Navratil
Tom arrived in Skopje July 17, 2007 following Macedonian language training in Washington. He joined the foreign service in 1984 and has served in Santo Domingo, Moscow, and Tokyo (twice).
At the State Department he served in the Office for Korean Affairs, the Office for Russian Affairs, the Office of the Coordinator for Counterterrorism, and most recently as deputy director of the Office of Nordic and Baltic Affairs.
He also spent a year as an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a training assignment at Tokyo University.
