The Reporters Perform in Honor of Daniel Pearl World Music Days

October 25, 2011

The U.S. Embassy Skopje is pleased to invite you to the concert of “The Reporters”- the musical band of journalists from Macedonia, who you probably remember from last year and who have again accepted the Embassy’s invitation to perform in honor of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days.  The Reporters include: Mile Boshnjakovski, Zharko Dimitrioski, Borjan Jovanovski, Petrit Saracini and Stojan Trpcevski.  Media are invited to cover the event on Tuesday, October 25, at 19:30 on the plateau next to Mother Teresa Monument on Macedonia Street in Skopje.

Background: The World Music Days were created in response to the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl at the hands of extremists in Karachi, Pakistan.  Danny was a talented musician who joined musical groups in every community in which he lived, leaving behind a long trail of musician-friends spanning the entire world. Commemorating Danny's October 10th birthday, the Daniel Pearl World Music Days coordinates concerts in cities around the world to use the universal language of music to encourage fellowship across cultures and build a platform for "Harmony for Humanity." The Music Days have grown to include the participation of more than 6,700 performances in 111 countries.
